The Play Therapist is more than just a keeper of healing tools...

Theresa Fraser

Play Therapy is defined by APT as “the systematic use of a theoretical model to establish an interpersonal process wherein trained Play Therapists use the therapeutic powers of play to help clients prevent or resolve psychosocial difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development." The trained Play Therapist understands the importance of not only creating a nurturing relationship in the play therapy space but also advocating for all adults in the child's life to understand the power of nurture in all of the child's life spaces. NURTURING is a neurodevelopmental intervention that addresses trauma.
